Safer Internet Day 2017
We celebrated Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 7th February 2017.
Each class took part in a Key Stage Worship around the theme of images on the Internet. In addition to this, each class enjoyed a variety of activities in the classroom which looked at the roles we all play in helping to create a better and safer online community.
The staff and children looked at and discussed how some images on the Internet only provide a 'snapshot' and are not a true indication of people's lives. We investigated the bigger picture and how images on the Internet can be seen by numerous people across the world.
A Year 5 child came up with the abbreviation T.A.D. when dealing with images you may wish to put on-line:
Think- about who is on the picture and the message it gives;
Ask -whoever is involved for their permission;
Decide - on whether posting the picture is the right thing to do.
