🌟🏫 Reception Stay and Play Fun! 🏫🌟
Our wonderful Reception children had a fantastic Stay and Play session this week! 💕✨
The children were so excited to welcome their grown-ups into the classroom, show them around and share all the amazing learning they have been doing this half term! 🧸🎨📚
🔤 They also had the chance to show off their super phonics skills during a special lesson with their grown-ups. We were so proud of their confidence, enthusiasm and fantastic learning! 🌟👏

Preschool Outdoor Workshop Fun! 🔨
Our preschool children have been busy exploring and creating in our outdoor workshop! They enjoyed drawing their own creations and using a variety of loose parts to bring their ideas to life. As they built, they explored mathematical language such as tall, short, small, big, biggest and smallest, comparing the sizes and heights of their creations.
The children also practised their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as they took turns carefully hammering wooden tees into pumpkins. This fun, hands-on activity encouraged turn-taking, patience, concentration and safe tool use.
What a wonderful way to develop creativity, early maths skills and physical coordination through outdoor play! …

🔬🤖 **STEM Club – Coding, Creating and Exploring!** 🌟
We've been busy learning lots of exciting new skills in our after-school STEM Club!
🎲 **Micro:bit Magic!**
We programmed our micro:bits to become digital dice, displaying a random number from 1 to 6 when shaken! We also created flashing icons and made our names scroll across the screen. We even learnt how to connect our micro:bits to our iPads using Bluetooth and download our code!
🤖 **Sphero BOLT Adventures!**
We put our driving skills to the test, practising aiming, steering and changing direction as we navigated our robots around the classroom. We even discovered how to change our robots' colours!
🎨 **3D Design and Printing!**
Using Tinkercad, we designed our very own personalised bedroom door signs! We started with a base shape, added our names and decorated our designs with extra shapes. We also learnt how to create holes for string or ribbon so our signs could be hung up at home. Our designs were then brought to life using our MakerBot Sketch 3D printer, before we painted them to make our lettering really stand out!
🌟 **What a fantastic few weeks of creativity, coding, problem-solving and hands-on learning!** We've loved seeing everyone's confidence and skills grow as they explore the exciting world of STEM!
