Our Factual Footprints Learning

Weeks 4 and 5

We have been busy designing and making moon buggies. We have also designing a Science investigation, to find out the most suitable material for a Spacesuit. The children decided to test for which material would be the most waterproof.

We continued to use Scratch, in Computing, to create our own Algorithms, to provide instructions for a rocket to fly to a planet.

We have continued to practice for our Christmas Production, too! We can't wait to perform 'Lights, Camel, Action!'

Week Two and Three

In Computing, we have given and followed instructions with a partner to design a space character. We then used a painting program on the computers to create our characters. We explored 'Scratch' for the first time and followed instructions to create a rainbow!

In History, we have looked at the life of Neil Armstrong and created a timeline of key events and achievements in his life. We have continued to explore materials in Science.

We are all very excited to be designing moon buggies, too!

We learnt the introduction for our information text about Tim Peake using Talk for Writing! We remembered to use key vocabulary and punctuation.

Factual Footprints

Week One

What a great start we have had to our new curriculum focus. We have been learning lots of interesting information about famous Astronauts including Chris Hadfield and Mae Jemison.

In Science we have explored everyday materials and their properties.

In computing we have started to explore what an Algorithm is. We created instruction to move our class robots! We even had a look at using Scratch to begin coding, which the children loved!
