This children joined in a wonderful outdoor adventure with Louise! The theme was based on our termly focus of ‘Water’. They discussed where water comes from, what happens to water when it freezes and what a reservoir is used for. They explored in the woods, using water guns to paint onto a canvas, using tools to smash ice, dressing up, playing instruments and much more! They then went on a adventure to the stream and on the way we saw lots of fairies in the trees, when we got to the stream they built a Dam using stones and bricks! They they walked to the reservoir and some children were brave and went through a dark tunnel! They finished with a fairy toadstool snack consisting of marshmallows and strawberries!

This morning the children joined in a fantastic outdoor adventure! The children walked into the woods to discover a Very Hungry Caterpillar! We listened to the story and some of us fed the hungry caterpillar some fruit! We then explored in the different areas around the woods, playing instruments, swinging in a hammock, exploring in a mud kitchen, bow and arrows, bug hunting! We even had a visitor from Louise’s house, a chicken! We then went on an adventure to the stream and climbed back up a big hill to end our adventure around the fire, making garlic bread with real garlic leaves that we found in the woods!

What a fantastic outdoor adventure the children had this morning! We walked into the woods to find a tiger who was very hungry!! We had to make some tiger food by finding things in the woods and mixing them together in the mud kitchen.  We then went on an adventure to find the baby cubs! We walked through the mud, across stones and around the trees to find them holding a tub of marshmallows!  We rescued the cubs and had to travel through a dark tunnel to get back to mummy tiger! The children were so brave! We made it back to the start and relaxed by the fire with a warm vimto and marshmallows to toast on the fire.

What a fantastic afternoon the children have had at Pre-School with Louise from Wild Ones Adventure! They embarked on a thrilling 'Bear Hunt' journey, re-enacting parts of the beloved story. Equipped with binoculars, they eagerly scanned the surroundings, looking for bears and rescuing them from high trees. Their adventure continued as they bravely climbed over and under branches while traversing a steep hill. The excitement reached its peak when they discovered a river, splashing and sploshing their way through.

But wait, there's more! As if the day couldn't get any better, the children stumbled upon a dark cave, where they spotted a bear! Their courageous spirit led them back up the hill, where they took a well-deserved rest around a cozy fire. They toasted marshmallows and even crafted delicious chocolate biscuit sandwiches. What an incredible adventure for our Pre-schoolers!

Autumn term 1 Outdoor Learning Adventure!

The children walked into the woods to find it had been transformed into an amazing obstacle course! Louise linked this weeks learning of how to be an astronaut and fly up into space and to become an astronaut you have to be brave, clever and strong.
Louise also linked the children’s termly focus book, ‘The Colour Monster’ and the children re-called the colours and feelings throughout the adventure.

The children began at the obstacle course, to train to be an astronaut! They lifted heavy bags, climbed through ropes, and under tunnels. They they continued their adventure and climbed up a steep hill, discussing how they might be feeling ‘worried’. The children all climbed up using a rope and made it to the top of the hill! They then slid down the hill using a rope and landed safely at the bottom. At the end of the session the children made it back to the beginning to enjoy a well deserved drink and melted their marshmallows on the fire!

Well done Pre-school, a wonderful outdoor learning session! ⭐️

Start children off on the way they should go and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
