SCHOOL CLOSURE

In the event of bad weather school may have to close. This decision will be confirmed through the following communication channels in the morning (before 7.15AM).

In the event of bad weather or snow please check the:

  • school website
  • Seesaw and Tapestry
  • Facebook
  • listen to Radio Lancashire
  • check the websites at lancsnews@bbc.co.uk

In the event of a significant amount of snow our morning wrap around provision will be cancelled and school will impose a delayed opening time, this is not a given and will require confirmation from school. This is due to the facilities around school and rural roads not being appropriately treated and larger quantities of snow will require moving. In addition, amenity checks will also have to be made to ensure the building is safe for all children and staff.

If school staff are able to support with online learning, they will upload work in line with our remote learning policy. Please be aware that not all staff will be able to complete this, due them making an attempt to travel to work and/or personal amenities maybe compromised. In this event, we direct parents and children to undertake tasks from their termly Home Learning Grid.

Please do not ring school as staff can be trying to contact school to keep us informed about their whereabouts in bad weather.

If school closes throughout the day, we will contact you through the Group call system. PLEASE inform us if your contact details change at any time. It is important that we can contact you in case of emergency.

If school has been able to remain open, then every effort should be made to attend school to avoid unauthorised absences.

Start children off on the way they should go and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
