FUNDRAISING

About the Project: The Hoddlesden St Paul’s Minibus Mission

At Hoddlesden St Paul’s CE Primary School, we believe learning should reach far beyond the classroom. Our children thrive when they can explore, discover, compete, perform, visit new places and engage with the wider community.

But with transport costs rising sharply — from £75 one-way trips to Blackburn, to £350 choir travel, £1,000 travel to Snow Centre and over £4,000 a year just for swimming — we are increasingly restricted by what we can afford.

Our vision is simple:

To purchase our own school minibus so that every child can access more opportunities, more often, at a much lower cost.

Owning a minibus would mean:
✨ More curriculum trips
✨ Cheaper travel for families
✨ Greater enrichment opportunities
✨ More sports, arts and community events
✨ Freedom to plan creative learning without transport barriers
✨ Significant long-term savings for the school

This project is not just about transport.
It’s about unlocking opportunity.
It’s about giving every child — regardless of background — the chance to see more, do more and grow more.

To make this dream a reality, we are launching a whole-school, community-powered fundraising mission with events such as:
🥾 Mr Dugdale’s Big Walk to Pendle Hill
🚶‍♂️ March for a Minibus Family Walk
🧁 Cake Sales
🚶 Children’s Mile-a-Day Challenge
🎨 “Sponsor a Mile” and “Buy a Seat on the Bus” campaigns
…plus business sponsorship, grants and community support.

Every donation — large or small — brings us another step closer to putting “Hoddlesden St Paul’s” on the road.

Together, we can drive this dream forward.

One mile. One pound. One act of generosity at a time.

So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others
