Autumn 1 Week 1 

What an amazing start to Year 6 we have had! In Maths, we have started to work on place value up to one million. We have used our knowledge to order and compare numbers. In English, we have started to look at our new text The Invisible Story. We started by making predictions about the text and we have begun to look at the setting of a library, generating expanded noun phrases to use in our writing next week. In Science, we have been learning about the five main groups of vertebrates. We have created an information page about their characteristics. In History, we have done some research about The Kingdom of Benin. We thought about things we wanted to find out and used the iPads to research online. We also spent some time discussing our feelings about the new school year in PSHE. Miss Holt was so impressed with our hard work and mature attitude this week! We finished the week with some Blooket time on Friday. We did some times tables work and a quiz on our Science learning.
